CREST OF LIGHTNING

Crest Racing is delighted to offer shares in Crest of Lightning, an exciting three-year-old gelding recently secured by Anthony from the Goffs Spring Store Sale.

The family is already familiar to the team, with Crest Racing also owning his half-brother, Crest of Arms, who is in training with us. 

That existing connection, coupled with the strength of the pedigree and the horse’s physical presence, made Crest of Lightning an exciting addition to the Crest Racing syndicates.

By the outstanding sire Nathaniel, Crest of Lightning boasts a pedigree packed with proven National Hunt talent. 

Nathaniel has established himself as a source of tough, progressive and high-class jumpers, producing horses capable of competing at the very highest level.

The pedigree is further strengthened by an exceptional female family. 

His dam, One Gulp, was a five-time winner and has already produced multiple winners, while his second dam, Elaine Tully, produced nine winners, including the memorable Rule The World, winner of the 2016 Grand National.

This is a family that consistently produces sound, durable and successful racehorses, making Crest of Lightning an exciting prospect for the future.

Purchased for his athleticism, scope and overall presence, Crest of Lightning has all the attributes required to develop into a smart National Hunt performer. 

As a young horse, he offers owners the opportunity to follow every stage of his journey, from his early education through to racecourse action.

A limited number of one-twelfth shares are available at £4,700 per share.

The initial share purchase includes:

All  syndicate set-up costs training and keep through to 31 August 2026.

Thereafter, costs are £210 per month.

We are very excited to have the opportunity to syndicate a NH “Saturday” horse with up and coming trainer Chester Williams. 

Chester has shown his ability to improve horses and already has a Grade 2 winner in the bag with Tenter Le Tout! 

He had a 28% strike rate in his first season and has already had a winner this season with Loki’s Mischief. 

Chester says of The Four Sixes: 

I’m excited to have added The Four Sixes to my team. Previous performances show the extent of his talent, reaching a career high mark of 144 a year ago. After two wins in the autumn over fences, he lost his way a bit but Olly Murphy told me the poor runs were to get his mark down, and as a result he is now well handicapped on his best form. With no lengthy absences in his career, it shows he is a sound horse with a good constitution. 

I’m hoping that a change of scenery and the different routine that we can provide will reinvigorate The Four Sixes. He can run over hurdles and fences, so the plan is to run him in the autumn and likely mix the disciplines. At his best he is definitely a Saturday horse and can be great fun to be involved with over the next two seasons. 

We are offering 20 shares priced as follows:

5% - £1250 to include purchase price, sales commission, admin charge, transport and all training until 1 September 2026. 

£150 pcm from 1 September 2026 to include estimated training, jockey, travel, vet, farrier etc. 

If there is any excess left at the end of each season this will be returned along with any prize money. 

We will run the contract until 31 May 2028.  

This horse has a very similar profile to our flat horse Rathgar whose form tailed off at the end of last season and has since gone on win two handicaps and over £50,000 in prize money.
